Ecology cites PT mill for its 2025 discharges

PORT TOWNSEND — The state Department of Ecology has issued a notice of violation to the Port Townsend Paper Company for two unauthorized wastewater discharges in November 2025.

The paper mill has 30 days to respond to the notice, which was issued on Oct. 14.

One of these appears to be a second leak caused by diesel pumps, not becoming activated during a maintenance outage. -Olyopen
