And it won’t be the equal to the random secret test launch of a rocket as happened in Southern California last week, scaring everyone in the area, but scientists will be out on the Olympic Peninsula to test the data of a weather satellite. No guys in aluminum foil hats. Just scientists seeking data.
The OLYMPEX project will use aircraft, radar, weather stations and volunteers with rain gauges to improve local forecasts and ground-truth satellite data. Sandi Doughton reports. (Seattle Times)
