EVENT: Sound Action’s Amy Carey to talk at Jefferson Marine Resources Committee

Tuesday night, October 3rd, Amy Carey, executive director of Sound Action, will talk to the Jefferson County Marine Resources Committee.  Acting  as a regulatory watchdog group is the prime work of Sound Action. Every bulkhead permit. Every dock permit. Every marina, float or buoy permit. Every dredging proposal and every export facility permit… they review them all and take action if the permit issued didn’t have proper habitat protections or when required regulations weren’t applied. Each year they review more than 500 permits and filed dozens of appeals, with most having a positive resolution. The meeting starts at 6PM and is open to the public. Amy is slated to speak at the beginning of the evening.

WHERE: Port Commissioners Bldg. 333 Benedict St. Port Townsend.

The building is a small one story building. Coming in from Highway 20, turn towards the water from the street next to the Safeway gas station and Henry’s Garden Store. Go one and a half blocks, and it is on your right. If you reach the harbor, you have gone too far.
