It continues to appear that Exxon held patents that it understood could have helped reduce key pollutants as early as the 1960s, but purposely withheld the evidence while it maintained a PR campaign that refuted any such idea. When we look back, 100 years from now, if civilization survives, it might be to consider these people criminals of the highest order. Doing the bidding of the status quo, when faced with the knowledge that you could have changed it, given what we now know, is quite damning
