I knew Bob as a dedicated environmentalist who fought to protect rather than just restore. There are so few like him anymore. So many environmentalists have just gone to being restoration specialists and seem to refuse to actually fight to protect the environment. Many have teamed up with the very industries that are continuing to exploit the environment for profit.

Sad news indeed. I knew Bob back in the Seattle in the 1970’s when we worked together against efforts to make Puget Sound (we didn’t have the better term Salish Sea back then). I lost track of him over the years and didn’t know about his work on the Olympic Peninsula. Thanks, Al, for this inspiring and sad update. The world has lost a good man.
Al;
You are exactly right about Bob Lynette. He did fight to protect rather than just restore. Always admired that about him and Susan. One thing that has always bothered me is the political correctness of organizations that put human well-being well before protecting the environment. Human overpopulation is serious with our population about 5X what the Earth can sustainably support. Yet all of mankind bashes ahead anyway.

Bob was a long-time buddy & board member while I was President of Protect the Peninsula’s Future for 20 years. Yes, sadly few with his expertise, skills and dedication are left standing these days…
