Most of the those attending an Oct. 25 hearing in Quilcene voiced support of the state Department of Natural Resources proposal to expand the Dabob Bay Natural Area Preserve (NAP) and Devils Lake Natural Resources Conservation Area (NRCA).

I thought that Peter Bahls had a good response in the article regarding the impact on local district revenue – most of the land proposed to be acquired is so unsuitable for development that the assessed values and property tax revenues are very low.

  I agree Jim. I’ve reviewed the supporting documents from Peter’s organization and they are well thought through. I don’t understand why the county assessor had an issue with. I am assuming he read them, but, maybe not.
