Outing: Explore the Duckabush
Join us on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 10:00am-2:00pm for a field trip to the Jefferson Land Trust’s Duckabush Oxbow Preserve and the nearby USFS Ranger Hole site. We’ll explore lush, lowland forests; look for mushrooms and wildlife; and maybe see coho salmon moving upstream to spawn. We’ll start at the Preserve on a gentle trail down to the Duckabush River, then return to our cars and head to the Ranger Hole parking area for lunch and an afternoon walk through a more mature verdant forest on a fairly level 2-mile loop trail (elevation gain 292’). Carpooling and final trip details will be provided to registrants. RSVP to Cheryl Lowe at cheryl.lowe@outlook.com
