If you wonder if your membership money to People For Puget Sound is being used to good effect, note that only the Director of Science for P4PS and the representative of the oil industry were the only two people to testify for and against the bill….without the representation of P4PS there would not have been a voice on behalf of the Sound at the hearing to counteract the industry lobbyist.

OLYMPIA — Would a levy of 0.03 cents per gallon on oil transferred on Washington’s waters be a fee or tax?
“The fee, we really believe it is a tax,” said Greg Hanon, representing the Western States Petroleum Association.
“There’s no question that this is a fee, not a tax,’ said Bruce Wishart, representing People for Puget Sound.
Wishart and Hanon were the only two people to testify Thursday before the Washington House’s Ways and Means Committee on the proposed levy.
